Hello 👋
Hope your week is off to a good start. We are back with more #QueerlyLoves recommendations as featured on yesterday’s episode of Queerly’s Bottomless Brunch.
There’s a true crime podcast that’s had The GDC gripped on his morning walks, some 90s TV nostalgia, a Booker Prize-nominated novel and more.
A warm welcome to our new subscribers and those that have joined us as we merge with Rob’s former newsletter The Edit/Digital Distractions.
Don’t forget you can hear Queerly’s Bottomless Brunch live every Sunday from 10am (UK) at queerlyradio.com, listen to the show in full on Spotify and catch up with all the best bits on Brunchcast available wherever you listen to podcasts.

Rob & The GDC
📺 Taskmaster: This panel/game show hybrid recently moved to Channel 4 from Dave for its tenth series. Once you get over the fact that it doesn’t necessarily make sense and is ultimately pointless, Taskmaster offers hour after hour of laugh out loud moments and no strings fun. We also have the current series to thank for raising the profile and screen time of Mawaan Rizwan 😻 All series streaming on All 4. Rob
🎧 In The Dark: Originally released in 2016, this true crime podcast looks at the investigation into the abduction of 11 year old Jacob Wetterling. The case took 27 years to solve and led to national anxiety about stranger danger and the introduction of sex-offender registries. Utterly gripping. The GDC
📺 Roadkill: Peter Laurence is a charismatic government minister on the verge of promotion to high office. He is also celebrating a win in a newspaper libel case. But an inmate at a women’s prison claims to have a secret about Peter’s past that could affect his future. Hugh Laurie and Helen McCrory star in this gripping political thriller from writer David Hare. All episodes streaming now on BBC iPlayer. The GDC
📚 Real Life by Brandon Taylor: In his partly autobiographical Booker Prize-nominated debut novel Brandon Taylor shares the experience of being black, queer and studying for a science doctorate at a predominately white Midwestern university. Taking place over the course of a single weekend, the book’s swift and sharp dissection of race, sexuality and friendship cuts deep. Taylor is an exciting new voice in queer fiction. Rob
📺 Moesha & Sister, Sister: My Dawson’s Creek rewatch has proven itself to be the gateway drug to a full on festival on 90s TV nostalgia. Netflix have recently picked up the rights to these Nickleodeon classics. At risk of sounding like an old codger, they really don’t make them like this any more. Rob
